PARADOX OF GOD

In Pakistan at the city of Rawalpinidi, as I navigated through the dark alley on the first floor of the gurdwara that now serves as the premises of the Special Branch of the Police Department, the remains of a grand chandelier caught my attention. While it was still anchored to the roof with a heavy iron chain but had been pulled aside on the alley of the first floor.

The sprawling premises of this gurdwara and its rich frescos, on the verge of extinction, served as a reminder of its once grandiose where people would flock to rid their minds of evil! However, seven decades later, now the Police use the premises to interrogate people to decipher their potential evil intents!

In the darkness, as I turned on my flash and focused the camera on the remains of the chandelier, my mind posed a paradoxical question about the existence of God!

Either, we are not free and God the all-powerful is himself responsible for all the evil that exists in this world. Or we are free and responsible for our actions, which means God is not all powerful!

It’s beyond my brain to comprehend this mystery but I am glad that time and again, the research of Sikh Legacy across Pakistan has made me reflect on many profound philosophical questions.
